I hope Preesident Obama doesn't get all conciliatory and respectful towards Perry |

Obama has that bad habit (which would be a good habit in normal times) of legitimizing his opponents. Saying nice things about them, and saying they may differ but he respects their opinion, and that some of their points are valid.
Over the next couple of months Gov. Perry is going to be introducing himself to America, and trying to put his best foot forward. Looking like a strong effective governor who is a job creator.
Obama and his campaign team HAVE to start going after this guy now, using whatever they've got -- including his goofy cowboy image, his rigid form of intolerant Christianity, the suckyer side of his "jobs" claim and the impact of his budget chicanery. Whatever it takes to Palinize him.
He can't give this guy the stature of a worthy opponent, even accidentally. If Perry gets any traction at this point, he stands a good chance of making it to the White House.

1. If Perry is the nominee, Obama has to hit him hard |
|
Take control of the message. If Goodhair throws shit at Obama, Obama tosses it back and then some. Goodhair is a dangerous and dirty campaigner. You can't be conciliatory to him. If you are, it's at your own peril.

it's just not in his 'conciliatory' nature.

3. Biden is great at that -- they're his "friend" but they're "you're |
|
fundamentally WRONG!" I've seen him do this a few times, and it's amazing. They never take it personally as can easily happen.

7. WHy do think the WH 'leaked' the Romney character comment? |
|
Bachmann and Perry won't be acknowledged until they are an actual threat. Anything other than ignoring them will elevate them. Obama wants Romney. So do the repubs old boys club.

I know it's difficult to comprehend that in this day and age of dissing and slicing an dicing, but that is just one thing I like about him. He's not an animal like so many are

10. The WH would NEVER criticize its "opponent:" |
|
Unless it's the "Professional Left"/Progressives/Lib DEMs. Perry can expect to be called "reasonable," "negotiator in good faith," and "a nice guy" by the WH. Hell, I wouldn't be suprised if Obama pinned a medal on Perry's chest, like he did for George HW Bush last year. It's getting to the point of my wondering if they're on the same side, with only minor superficial "differences" to fool the voters.
