Fun With A Mailing From Citizens Against Government Waste |
|
For some reason or other I find myself on someone's right-wing mailing list so I occasionally get mass mailings from some reactionary outfit or other asking for money or political support. One of my latest came from a right-wing outfit called Citizens Against Government Waste. Ostensibly written by Rick "Governor Good-hair" Perry, it was a petition demanding an end to deficit spending.
Being a good Democrat if not the most progressive member here at DU, I decided to have some fun with it. I pulled out my Sharpie pen and pointed out that Rick Perry was a $25 billion deficit hypocrite who supported a reckless state tax cut several years ago, used federal money to make up his state's budget shortfall, and currently has a $25 billion dollar state deficit. I also told them that I thought today's Republicans in general and Perry in particular weren't fit to manage the finances of a corner checkers club, let alone anything bigger. I then put it in the mail without including a check.
It wasn't much of a blow against the right-wing propaganda organs, but it cost some right-wing functionary the time it took to open my envelope, and with a little luck, it might have helped spur at least a slight drop in morale. It certainly made ME feel better.

1. Did you have to use your stamp or was it theirs? |
|
Always a good thing to use theirs.

3. If they provide the stamp, send them all your other junk mail too. |
