Mc Cain and Lindsey Graham have no shame
They put out a statement about Libya and included some offensive comment about the the US policy (read Obama). They make me ill. Here we finally have the proof of the wisdom of this policy and its success and they want to sh** all over it.

“The end of the Qadaffi regime in Libya is a victory for the Libyan people and for the broader cause of freedom in the Middle East and throughout the world. This achievement was made possible first and foremost by the struggle and sacrifice of countless Libyans, whose courage and perseverance we applaud. We also commend our British, French, and other allies, as well as our Arab partners, especially Qatar and the UAE, for their leadership in this conflict. Americans can be proud of the role our country has played in helping to defeat Qaddafi, but we regret that this success was so long in coming due to the failure of the United States to employ the full weight of our airpower.

1. McCain and Graham
are both very petty. They have no class when it comes to Obama, especially if any policy he's implemented has had any success.

I don't recall either of them demanding US air power against Qadaffi when Bush was in office.

6. They are petty. And snide.
Sadly, they are also not unlike many on DU who are committed to trashing this President at every opportunity.

3. McCain was a Gadhaffi enabler
So I have no idea why he'd regard this as a victory for the Libyan people. Hell, he wanted to help arm the despot: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/03/22/john-mccain-was-in-favor-_n_839249.html

McCain and Graham cosponsored the resolution - never voted on in the Senate - with John Kerry that would have given Obama the Senate's permission to do just what Obama did - and incidentally, no more. The resolution absolutely forbade Obama from putting troops on the ground and limited the US role. The SFRC in their markup reemphasized the limitations. The House did vote down a resolution similar to this one.

It is true that both Graham and McCain pushed for the US to do more when Gadafi did not immediately fall after the no fly zone was established. The Obama administration and Senator Kerry both spoke of it being a matter of time with the NATO support and depriving Gadafi of access to money in Europe and the US and cutting off his ability to get it from oil sales.

The obvious comparison is to Iraq 2003.

8. What a pantload
Most of their own party were almost ready to try pulling the
Plug on the whole intervention a few weeks ago. I think that McCain and Graham were pretty much the only Repubs whom wanted to keep going. That being said it really sucks that they can't make a single statement about a success of any kind without pissing on PBO
At the same time. Ugh :puke:

9. We weren't at war with Lybia so we had no right to even consider using our airpower.
This will be a victory for the Libyan people and they are the ones who needed to fight the good fight.

Grahan and McCain are just sore that President Obama-a Democrat has done more to secure our freedoms than any Republican has in a very long time.

11. When will folks stop being stunned, just stunned, that Republicans
are shameless and self serving bags of hate? If your headline is news to you, you are behind the storyline. That is a lesson that needs to be learned finally and at last.

18. Yeah I kind of see them as a high school "mean girl" pair. With McCain as the alpha girl.
And Lindsey as the one who sucks up to the alpha girl and is her right hand in dealing dirt on the unpopular kids.
