PHOTOS: The Obama Ladies (and Bo) visit Children's Medical Center

Malia Obama takes her dog Bo around to visit patients while at the Children's National Medical Center with her mother, first lady Michelle Obama on December 22, 2009 in Washington, DC. The first lady toured the hospital visiting the Heart and Kidney Unit before greeting 200 patients and hospital staff.

U.S. President Barack Obama's daughter Malia shows her family's dog Bo to children as she waits for her mother, first lady Michelle Obama, to read a Christmas story to patients at the Childrens National Medical Center in Washington, December 22, 2009.

Patient Taylor Buckles (L) looks on as U.S. first lady Michelle Obama (2nd L) reads the book "Twas The Night Before Christmas" at the Children's National Medical Center in Washington, December 22, 2009. Also pictured are Obama's daughters Sasha (2nd R) and Malia (R).

LOL at Bo:

First lady Michelle Obama and her daughters Sasha (C) and Malia try to get their dog Bo to stop barking at Santa Claus as they read Christmas stories to children at the Children's National Medical Center on December 22, 2009 in Washington, DC.

4. What a great idea to take Bo to the children's hosp.
My tiny, elderly Maine Coon doesn't generate allergic reactions like many cats, so I'd wrap her in a towel with her head poking out and would take her to visit a friend in a nursing home. She was always a big hit.

9. Little Skeezix is very gentle and even-tempered. Perfect visitor. Also
for some reason, she's TINY. She never weighed more than 7 lbs. We say she's Maine Coon - bonzai variety.

17. that's interesting to hear ... i'm allergic to cats.
I love cats but can't have them because of allergies. So your comment about your Maine Coon was very interesting. Do you know if there's something different about Maine Coon dander vs. other cats?
