Today is the day anti-war beliefs die off completely in America
We are never going to leave Afghanistan and we are going to be even further involved in Pakistan. The death of Bin Laden will be used as an excuse to continue our war mongering policies all over the world. Neo-liberalism will now be fully ingrained in our culture and political dialogue in a way we will never be able to change.

The media, republicans and many democrats will trumpet this as a victory through the use of our military and the reason why all our wars were actually the right thing to do.

5. I'd think this would be the perfect excuse to LEAVE Afghanistan,
not stay longer. The attitude will be "OK, fine, you got him. Leave. Please."

Also, I cannot for the life of me fathom why Osama's death is somehow a bad thing to people around here.

9. There is no reason to announce, accept to justify a draw down.

So I expect there will be a draw down.

14. What?
The death of Osama will be seen as the success of our war on terror and will be used as a reason for us to continue going after terrorists all over the world.

11. No. People are tired of endless war. And the vast majority of the military
(everyone who's not top brass) is tired of endless war, in my experience. I am hoping this leads to a feeling of closure and a yearning for peace.

17. You're right.
My right-wing friends, who are plentiful, are posting the "yay war" message on Facebook. 'Scuse me, did they find Bin Laden in an obscure Afghan village? Did they bomb him in Iraq? Maybe I missed something.

It'll be the last time anti-war beliefs are heard by the MSM or the government.
