Giving Bush credit for getting OBL is like giving Neville Chamberlain credit for winning WW2 |
|
Rightwing nutjobs are twisting themselves in knots trying to give Bush credit for this action.
It's hilarious trying to follow their logic.

The same special forces who handled the finding of Hussein and his sons did so because of Bush's focus inside an occupied(for oil) country that had nothing to do with 911 and no nukes. Meanwhile Afghanistan, where we early let Osama slip away by using heavy handed bombing of Tora Bora, languished. Besides Bush's own words definitely sealing these "impressions" we have the now proven Democratic Party conviction and determination about hunting Osama in Pakistan- or any place without oil if necessary- vindicated. Even without the clear words of Kerry and Obama actions speak for themselves.
The military we are directed to praise were directed away from Bin Laden by Bush and succeeded both with Hussein and Bin Laden. The WH under Bush did the ugly presentation of corpses and kangaroo trial even at the extra cost of infuriating ALL Muslims much less Al Qaeda. There is no raunchy team of WH aides and salivating press pumping up the real role of Obama and the Dems in getting(or letting) the job get done.
Massive fail by the shameful, shameless, Bush, GOP and media puppies.

for, at least the initial stages of the Afghanistan operation (2001-2002) until he choked at Tora Bora and then decided to focus his attention on Iraq for the remainder of his (P)residency instead. Of course, it's only fair to point out that a lot of what he was doing AFTER 9/11/01 was stuff (excluding torture, Gitmo, etc.) that the Clinton Administration and, in particular, Richard Clarke, had developed right before leaving office.

13. Chamberlain apologists do give him some credit |
|
Their story is that he gave way to Hitler to buy time for Britain to build its defenses. He knew what was coming but also knew that Britain wasn't prepared.
It's similar to the credit given to Stalin. In Stalin's case, the claim is that he knew Hitler would invade the Soviet Union, but he became Hitler's ally to buy needed time.
