I see a lot of posts talking about what is the most "human" way to react to bin Laden's death... |
|
...and honestly I find this sort of talk amazingly disturbing. There is simply no telling how a human being is going to react emotionally to news such as this. A whole range of emotions can easily be expected. Many may celebrate the death of somebody who did many terrible things. Others will feel remorse at the death of a human. Many others may simply feel little one way or another. This is natural, and also perfectly human.
We gain nothing in dehumanizing those who don't react in exactly the same manor that we ourselves do, and in the end lose much of our own humanity in the action.

1. Yup. The "human" reaction will run the gamut of emotions. |

I am hopeful that some of the errors of fear will end.
But mostly I realize it might be different to not see it as that meaningful as an action, but only as a possibility for other corrective actions.
A way to move away from the era that has caused many problems.
But in the grand scheme of things.
I am still due beer and travel money, and in what way has that situation changed that, or corrected that? I would make comments on events as spoken of as data in the news, but I also know CGI is being used in some places, making credibility include having to make sense.
Yet when I think long on the topic, so I can compare topics to making sense, that is not what people are discussing on the news. So the possibility of CGI, and not having a deep topic on the surrounding issues of fear state, or security state, and the causes of radicalization, much of the news is irrelevant, as are most of the concepts of celebration, making the event only a way to choose to create better circumstances by moving away from worse ones.
Side note there have been some discussions that are better on the news, that go into topics of how it can lead to better results and some effects.
And honestly I do think groups are trying to move to better ideas.
But in the grand scheme of information sources being able to be questionable, and past actions of not payment of beer and travel money that is due.
I mostly play music and movie clips and ponder on the function not the data.

5. I think, since this thing has controlled our lives for the last 10 years, |
|
that we should have 24 hour immunity on the things we say and feel. Tomorrow we'll be more rational.

7. why try to tell another person how to feel ? or to try and shame them for honest feelings |

The path to the moral high ground does not include getting on a soapbox and spitting on the victims of 9/11.

9. The "human" way to react to the death of a fundie, regardless of religion is simple |
|
UBL: Good riddance. Falwell: Good riddance.
Coming soon to a morgue near you:
Robertson: Good riddance. Swagert: Good riddance.
The list goes on.
