I would like to single out departing Congressman Patrick Murphy, a Iraq War veteran who fought tirelessly to repeal DADT. Despite his efforts, he was stabbed in the back by the Log Cabin Republicans who joined forces with the Tea Baggers to push him out of office. Should the LGBT suffer any setbacks over the next two years, I hope the loggers understand that they are part of the problem. But returning to the Congressman, I wish him the best, whatever future he pursues.

2. I sent him a little campaign money from time to time.

Although I live in NC, I liked keeping up with him. Always enjoyed talking on the phone with his young,
enthusiastic volunteers who were trying to raise him some cash.

I started this support after Wes Clark endorsed him. His name and information were always up on General Clark's website.

Patrick seemed like such a forthright guy (not a typical politician); and it's hard for me to understand how anyone could vote against him. :(
