Honestly...I felt the killing of OBL was one of those necessary evils

and I commend the President for doing it "quickly and neatly". That being said, I am anti-death penalty.

So, I have sat the past few days holding on to that...pretty much deliberately staying away from here so as to not feel the need to be challenged by someone else's views on the matter.

Last night, I had a vivid dream. I still haven't completely processed it yet, but in it, I was in a room and several people who were obviously from Death Row. I was sitting in a room and these men (yeah sorry about this, but they were all men) were led into me and it was my job to escort them to their death. And I did it. One by one. The last part of my dream--as it changed, was me being in the hospital room of some animal--looked a lot like a wolf with a pointy nose, but it was white and it wasn't a wolf, but it was talking to me. And I was talking to it. The wolf was ill. But there was a distinct feeling not to trust it.

Anyway--it was a very strange dream, and I am yet to wonder if, in my subconscious, do I really support the death penalty? Or do I feel responsible for the deaths because I did not resist?
It is interesting...but I woke up feeling like I didn't sleep last night.:(

about this--and that seems to be the one position we can't take on DU.

I can't interpret dreams but I can say I'm vociferously anti-DP--but I also don't support the cold-blooded, calculated slaughter of thousands of innocents whether it's in Afghanistan by a bomb or in NYC by plane.

One thing I haven't done is lost sleep. I hope you can make peace with the fact that you're human and flawed and it's okay to be that way (acting on your humanity is another matter).

It would be a dream come true if everyone that supported killing without a trial was haunted in their dreams. Have fun with "necessary evil". Maybe even look up the word "necessary".

PS: You aren't really "anti death penalty" you just said that hoping you could sleep without a wolf tonight. The title of your post says as much. And I don't think for a minute that you're lying about anything.
