President Obama is the kind of guy you could have a beer with |
|
Mitt Romney? He's not authentic. You don't know where he stands. He flip flops and doesn't connect with the values of Middle America.

6. They aren't supposed to drink alcohol or even coffee. |
|
A Mormon friend of mine explained it wasn't like you were going to go to Hell for sinning, like you would if you were Catholic and it was forbidden to drink alcohol (not so among Catholics), but that it's bad for your health and you shouldn't be doing that to your body or your mind.

4. Obama's a Bears fan...I'm a Packers fan so I doubt it. |
|
:P
Interesting side note: My father "had a beer" with George Romney. My father was in administration for Stroh Brewing and George showed up at a family picnic type thing once.

The guy is brilliant.
Mitt Romney seems a bit more approachable.

11. I suspect Obama would prefer a glass of red wine. And I'd welcome any opportunity... |
|
...to site down and have one with him.
And I suspect I'd be a lot more comfortable having a glass of wine with Obama than I would be having a beer with W.
W seems to not understand the basic social constructs that set the rules for social interaction - and it's the violation of those unwritten rules that makes people uncomfortable (the awkward jokes at people's expense, the uncouth loudness, the basic fratboy rudeness, those things). Combine that with stupid and you'd be counting the seconds until you finished that beer.
Intelligence and a high level of competence aren't inherently intimidating.

I said I suspect he prefers wine. Which I happen to prefer as well.
Politics says that you can't be photographed drinking wine if you are a "liberal elitist" politician, though.
It has to be beer. Cheap, domestic beer.

Heck, it struck me as almost entirely a thread of people expressing their opinions.
Forgive me for participating.

I don't like silly fawning from our side either. Both are politicians and I can't see myself hanging out with a politician... well, people powered Howard might be kind of fun. :D

It's where I talk to him about a lot of *things* he must do in his second term, and he tells me he will *get* the new 80%-20% Dem Congress to pass them (Medicare for all, legalize cannabis and tax it, and a lot of his *passed-due* promises).

the right conniptions about it. they even complained about the brand of beer they drank.
But they all wanted to get soused with the one who's name I still do not want to say.
