I No Longer Care What the Right Wing Says or Thinks
byCrashing Vor

........................

After years of inanity and insanity, changing the name of french fries, slapping on purple heart band-aids, calling a conservative-center senator and president a radical Marxist, screaming about government takeover of Medicare, yowling about readily-examined public records. . .

Oh, hell, you know it all. You were there.

After all that, to attempt to make the defeat of the man who masterminded the murder of more Americans than Yamamoto was able to kill on Dec. 7, 1941 into a rabid, rancid conspiracy fest aimed only at de-legitimizing the man ultimately responsible for the success or failure of the action, well, that closes the book on these people for me.

.............................

But the people who can't get off the political dime for one second, can't simply offer thanks and an attaboy to the military, the intel community and the president who set them in motion, well, I can no longer even pretend to take them seriously. They are not even trying to engage in rational debate. They're just being dicks.

2. Damn, this sounds familiar!
I used to believe there was "debate" in this country. I used to believe that everyone was entitled to their own opinion and that I should respect that. I used to believe that people with opposing views would work to find consensus and compromise.

I had this belief since 1972, the first election I voted in.

Not anymore. With the "Gingrich Revolution" in 1994, I've observed blatant pettiness, vacuity, and outright lying by Republicans and their evil offspring, the Tea Baggers.

It's constant. And it just gets more-so every day.

I'm at the point where if I encounter a Republican/TeaBagger who says something stupid like a FOX "News" talking point, I'm merely going to say, "FUCK YOU! YOU DON'T KNOW A FUCKING THING!!!" and simply walk away.

I don't want to fuck with them anymore.

Sorry, but that's the way I feel now.

10. I guess that the good old Gingrich Revolution turned the tide
for more people than just me. That was the point where the arrogance and viciousness started, and it has escalated to the point we are at today. I can't say that I am at the "fuck you" point yet, but maybe that is because I am the token liberal where I work. I don't want to be fired over this. But I am at the point where I refuse to do more than laugh at their comments. I will not even try to argue with idiots. And after Gingrich, their will never be a Republican in this country---local, state or federal---that I would even consider voting for, even if they really are a better, more qualified candidate. The party line and the stubborn arrogance trump everything for the Reps these days.

11. That was really the flipping point in history, wasn't it?
It was probably around that time that Falwell made his video that proved that Clinton was guilty of dozens of murders. That was when we crossed the border into fantasy.

16. It was insanity!
I remember Gingrich getting up in front of the American people and declaring "We will cooperate, but we won't compromise!"

I thought "no compromise?" Isn't that what American democracy is founded on? Isn't that what any democracy is founded on?

I was appalled to hear that statement coming out of the mouth of the new Speaker of the House...

13. That's the only fucking way to deal with them
Don't even engage them - tell them to take their 'blatant pettiness, vacuity, and outright lying' and ignorance and fuck off.

21. Since 1972 I've pretty much thought politicians were megalomaniacs
Especially after finding out about the dirty tricks Nixon and his plumbers did during the election. Every so often I am surprised to find that an individual in public office is not interested only in their own gains whether power or money, but it has only happened about once a decade throughout my life.

My opinion of the right wing has not changed much in the last four decades other than to increase the numbers of them I consider bat-shit crazy. I still think that politicians are megalomaniacs until proven otherwise.

4. We've given them way too much credit for far too long.
So when one tries to start a dialog with stupid conspiracy theories or a documented lie, it provides no foundation for continued debate. The trap we on the left have fallen into time and time again is to even aknowledge the baseless garbage they spew.

My position now when encountering any teabagger or neocon isthis: Back up what you're saying with facts or move on to something you can because I really don't have time fo schoolyard bullshit.

12. They can't even debate anymore without resorting to childish name calling.
I saw a book at Costco last night called "Thugocracy" and just reading the inside flap the author couldn't give his two cents about the Obama admin without resorting to childish name calling or kindergarten level insults. And this thing was at least 310 pages long. :eyes:

19. I closed my book on these fools after all of the lies about killing grandma, Gov take over of health
care, screaming of "you lie" during Obamas address to the nation and all of the phony, Republican enabling of the teabaggers and their sponsor Koch. They've just gotten worse since and I knew it was possible, but I had not idea that there would be Scott, Kasick, Walker, et al coming down the Republican dance line. "Evil" people, to the core, the lot of them.
