Wisconsin - Democrats confirm it: Pasch will run against Darling in recall

The Democratic Party and the committee to recall state Sen. Alberta Darling (R-River Hills) are confirming that state Rep. Sandy Pasch (D-Whitefish Bay) will challenge Darling in a possible recall election.

Gillian Morris, a spokeswoman for the party, confirmed that Pasch would run, as the Journal Sentinel reported in Thursday's paper.

Separately, Kristopher Rowe, organizer of the recall campaign, emailed the Journal Sentinel announcing Pasch's candidacy and praising her as someone who "believes in voting rights, workers rights and she believes in finding solutions together with her colleagues.

1. I don't live in Wisconsin, so I understandably don't

get all of the nuances, but if a Democratic state representative successfully runs against a recalled Republican, who is going to fill that state house seat? Are there other good Democrats who can run for the house seat?

3. (R) Mike Huebsch joined the Walker administration from here in the La Crosse area.

In a special election this past Tuesday his seat was won by Democrat Steve Doyle who is the chairman of the La Crosse County board of supervisors, so we flipped that seat. If it is a Democratic seat there are likely good Democrats to run.

Here in La Crosse my state representative Jennifer Schilling will run against (R) Dan Kapanke in the recall election to be held in July. A state rep makes for a very strong candidate against a sitting Republican state senator. I am confident we can find another good Democratic candidate to fill her seat when she wins.
