Heart breaking...Facebook site with found photos from tornado victims belongings.
People in other states have found papers and photos from Alabama tornadoes, and are posting them on this Facebook site,
in hopes the owners can get them back.
Quite moving, these very personal glimpses of other people's lives, loves, family.

But, if you are in Alabama, you might recognize a picture.

1. I don't know if its sad but
I think it is a really good idea. If we can get these folks there stuff back, it will help get their lives back to normal and it will mean less stuff going to landfills. What needs to happen is this needs to be publicized, because I haven't heard anything about this except here so I'm sure the majority of the victims have not heard about it.

2. What is wonderful is people are responding to idendify the pics!
One pic is a water bill from Smithville Ms. the whole town was pretty much destroyed, the bill ended up in Tenn.
and a relative of the owner is asking for it.

What a marvelous service Facebook is providing.
And how amazing so many storm victims know to go looking for the pics.

5. The simple beauty of ordinary lives.
Edited on Thu May-05-11 11:25 PM by blondeatlast
There is a cancelled check in one--the finder searched Google and found out that the woman had died on 4/27 but is hoping the family will contact her. Ordinary people trying to do whatever they can--THAT'S the USA I know and love.

Just going through the pictures is tremendously moving.

7. Wow, this is extremely moving
All these random snapshots of people's lives. I hope all of them are well and can find their photos.

I am glad we got OBL but I AM sad that the tornado victims in the south appear to be forgotten by most of America :(
