Ohio Rep. Kucinich Eyes WA Congressional Seat

Posted: 3:58 pm PDT May 5, 2011Updated: 7:33 pm PDT May 5, 2011
WASHINGTON -- It's been the topic of Capitol Hill news chatter all week: whether Ohio congressman and two-time presidential candidate Democrat Dennis Kucinich would pick up and move to the South Sound. Kucinich, who's been dodging reporters all week, gave KIRO 7 Washington, D.C. bureau reporter Carol Han the exclusive.

"You have the only interview," he told Han, who tracked him down outside a hearing on Capitol Hill on Thursday.

2. If he really does it, it will be painted as a desperate attempt to
stay in Washington and will not sit well with the voters in Washington.People vote for their Representatives based on local issues, not national issues. I can't imagine what he's thinking.

4. Wow! I know he has been
seriously recruited for OR, but I sure didn't know WA had their eyes on him.
Sure, it can "look" desperate...but it's more a factor of a desperate electorate, imho :)
I have been trying to get Weiner, Grayson and Sanders to relocate:)

5. Isn't there a residency requirement?...
Doesn't he have to live in the district for a period of time to be eligible?

7. There is no requirement on living in the district just be an inhabitant of the state.

9. Your sig
I like knowing what are my rights and demanding them while at the same time specifying the source of my rights. It intimidates the hell out of people.

6. I would think that once he declares and satisfies the residency requirements
That he would no longer be a resident of Ohio and therefore no longer a member of Congress.

Qualifications to be a candidate: Be a registered voter and possess qualifications for the office.

I can see others challenging his filing and possibly winning.
