Wisconsinites Among Nearly 100 Arrested in Rep. Ryan D.C. Protests

Posted Thursday May 5, 2011 1 day, 7 hours ago

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTAQ) - At least a dozen Wisconsinites were among about 100 arrested in Washington, while protesting House Republican Paul Ryan’s effort to change the Medicaid health system.

90 people occupied the rotunda of the Cannon House office building on Monday. And another group of 10 was arrested the next day after yelling and chanting for several hours in the lobby of Ryan’s office at the Longworth building.

They were released after being given court dates.

Both groups had opposed the Janesville Republican’s plan to convert the Medicaid health entitlement for the poor into block grants.

1. News is not meant to inform any more.
It's meant to entertain and divert attention away from actual news that might influence The People to rise against their corporate masters.

3. Disability Activists - Democrats who listened
Ryan sent his chief of staff to speak with the protesters but Speaker of the House John Boehner refused to speak to the organization. Representatives who talked to the group and listened to their demands included: John Lewis (D-Ga.), Danny Davis (D-Ill.), Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.), and Barney Frank (D-Mass.).
