Limbaugh And Obama Dead-Enders Lash Out After Bin Laden's Death
http://mediamatters.org/blog/201105060008

As we proceed deeper into the Obama presidency, we’re getting a clearer picture of just how radical some of the president’s far-right adversaries are. We’re starting to understand the depths to which the partisan extremists in the media will stoop, to the point where many this week seemed incapable of celebrating the execution of Osama bin Laden or extending a job well done to the White House.

That’s pretty low.

The bin Laden story has provided a useful filter, or a demarcation line, within the right-wing media and has helped illustrate which strident Obama critics are still in touch with some strands of common sense and common decency, and which ones are not.

The bin Laden story has provided the minimal bar for irrational Obama haters to hop over: Toast the news that bin Laden had been killed and toast the administration for being able to accomplish the long overdue task. But it’s a low bar that lots of dead-enders can’t clear. (Thankfully, some conservative pundits were willing to leap over it.)

1. Why exactly must everyone praise the execution of bin Laden?

2. Because we're exceptional Americans
And we'll tell you what laws are relevant and which ones aren't. Now, get with the program, wave your flag, and cheer the "overdue" execution of a man widely accepted to be very, very bad.

17. It's not everyone we're talking about, it's wingers
While many people on the left have qualms about killing instead of capturing and trying bin Laden, it's a central part of wingnut philosophy that someone like bin Laden is better off dead and an important part of presidentin' is being willing to deadify such persons boldly and successfully as necessary without tripping over some damn nuisance like the Geneva Convention that real Americans rightly ignore when it's suitable.

It's these people who would be passing petitions to add GWB to Mount Rushmore had he done the same thing who cannot admit it's an accomplishment they should applaud when Obama does it.

6. Obviously, it's not only some right wingers who have a problem
with an Obama success.

10. It's not a problem with Obama success
I have a problem with. I wish Obama all the success in the world as long as that success is not based on continuing Bush policies.

There have been countless versions of the Bin Laden story and the fog of war excuse doesn't cut it. I would have rather waited and heard one clear, concise story instead of hearing a daily version.

8. It has been absolutely hilarious
watching the right wingers this week. They're twisting themselves in knots, trying to distract and deflect and it's giving them ulcers that the history books will record Pres Obama is the one who killed bin laden. It's KILLING them.

President Obama succeeded where bush failed.
