Anyone know what happened with BradBlog being blocked by AOL?
Edited on Fri May-06-11 12:21 PM by hlthe2b
I was curious, but find I can't even get to his website today. He's been covering the WI recount closely, so I was curious....

Dear AOL Members: AOL is Censoring YOUR Email
And you have never been told...

If you use an AOL email address, AOL is doing you the favor of making sure you do not receive email containing any links to BradBlog.com in it.

Not email from a BradBlog.com address, mind you, as if I were a spammer or something (which, obviously, I'm not), but any email from anybody that has a link to this site, or to one of our news stories.

I learned this swell news early this week when someone was kind enough to let me know that their attempts at sending a link to this site to a friend bounced back to them with an error message. .............

1. At first I was going to ask "What's BradBlog"?
But the better question, I guess, is "What's AOL?"

4. Can anyone even get to BradBlog.com today?
Strangely, I could for one second or so and then I was kicked out and just get WORDPRESS error messages now?

5. error message:
Error establishing a database connection

This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at mysql.ctyme.com. This could mean your host's database server is down.

8. website appears to be back up now & a search revealed the following:
(includes a very detailed synopsis of what happened with AOL http://www.bradblog.com/?p=8487 )

but the last entry states:
UPDATE 4/25/11, 2:46pm PT: Free at last!!! After a full week of being censored by AOL, I'm just now finally heard from a member of the "AOL Executive Escalations" team that the block on BradBlog.com has now been removed! They had no explanation for the reasons that we were blocked in the first place, but have promised to get back to me with that information. In the meantime, at least we are once again free at last from this latest nightmare! Thanks to all of you who contacted AOL with your complaints!
