US Domestic Oil Production

I've heard it said that US crude production is at its highest level ever. Here's an example, 1:55 in:

But statistics say otherwise, and we peaked in oil production in the 70s:

Am I missing something, looking at the wrong data, or was this just a slip up from Obama?

2. Not sure what he meant
As you (and the EIA) said, US production peaked around 1970-71. Perhaps he was looking at demand figures, although I thought that had dipped a bit due to the economy?
