And I'm speaking to liberals, too, because I have heard just about everybody make the error and slip up.

But once you put that "U" there, suddenly it's not possible to make the error.

See?

President Obama, Osama, different.

4. That and only calling him Bin Laden
Should not use his first name anyway. First names are for friends. Motherfucker wasn't no friend of mine.

6. You were friends with Bin Laden? Wow. Tell us about it.
Or, you could learn about double negatives.

9. Or, in the alternative, we could be consistent and use BOTH men's last names.
Obama.

Bin Ladin.

Nothing remotely similar to get confused about there.

Visualizing this would send Repubs into a contorted tizzy...

13. Good idea.
Though it's a tough habit to change - everybody's been calling him Osama and mixing him up with Obama for too long.

But I'll start calling him Usama.

17. Does cut & paste from wikipedia work here?
أسامة بن لادن

The Arabic linguistic convention would be to refer to him as "Osama" or "Osama bin Laden", not "bin Laden" alone, as "bin Laden" is a patronymic, not a surname in the Western manner. In its expanded form, it means "Osama, son of Mohammed, son of Awad, son of Laden". According to bin Laden's son Omar bin Laden, the family's hereditary surname is "al-Qahtani" (Arabic: ‎القحطاني‎, āl-Qaḥṭānī), but bin Laden's father Mohammed bin Laden never officially registered the name.

It works in my browser.

18. Boy they sure do read between the lines
somehow "bin Laden" doesn't directly translate to "son of Laden" but somehow magically also includes "son of Mohammed, son of Awad" -- how do they do that?

So, his real name should be Usama al-Qahtani?
