Why do I want my own taxpayer $ to buy private health insurance |
|
when the corporate money billionaire bosses just keep squeezing for higher and higher profits so they can leech great big bonuses out of the likes of me.
Can we get somebody on our side to state this case plainly?

1. The same reason you want your tax dollars to pay for private schools |

and WAR. Oh, wait. You probably don't want either of those, but it's not our country. It belongs to the gazillionaires, because the most important thing in the world is for rich people to get richer. We're reminded of that every second of every day.

2. No, we can't. No one in power is willing to |

speak out against "capitalism" and the "private sector". Not to mention all of your premium dollars being put into the pockets of our legislators to buy their cooperation.

5. I have private insurance and trying to collect on a claim is a hassle. |
|
The system is set up to deny/reduce the payout. Why? Because every dollar saved goes to the corporate bottom line. If you want to collect, be prepared to spend lots of time fighting for your benefits.
Given the choice, I'd rather pay the same $ into a government run healthcare insurance plan, knowing that the person administering the claim is not incentivized to figure a way to screw the policy holder.

7. perhaps you need to get a whole lot of people to speak out |
|
I read Howard Zinn's A PEOPLE'S HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES a few years ago. I gave that book to a friend who kept it. A week ago I bought a new one and the DVD "THE PEOPLE SPEAK" - which was based on that book and Zinn's VOICES OF A PEOPLES HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES.
I just watched it today and found the words and music very inspiring. I think if this DVD was handed out to young people who are of voting age now,, it would dramatically change the political landscape.
There is a lot of history, important events, that I was not aware of, (and I love American history). The DVD showed videos and pictures of them which was quite awakening. This DVD does present America's history and how only when people rose up and protested and spoke out that changes happened and the higher elite powers had no choice but to listen and give us what they were keeping from the American people.
This DVD needs to be seen and heard. It was so wonderful hearing history and music from familiar faces like Dylan, Springsteen, Pink, Damon, Vedder, Freeman, Glover, and on and on.
