Wonderful play about a great Democratic politician and ex-governor of Texas. If you get a chance, go see it. I think it's headed to New York now -- we drove down to Austin to see it.

I also saw "Red Hot Patriot" - the one-woman show about Molly Ivans. It was also quite wonderful!

I highly recommend it! That time in Texas politics was when I was most active. It was a fine period and Ann was the best of it! We had Jim Mattox and Jim Hightower and Ann Richards giving speeches and Ann's were the only ones that were different each time you saw her. If you saw the guys they were great, but if you saw them more than once in a week, it was a recycled speech. Not Ann. She was always original, at least when I saw her which was a lot!
I went with my in laws and friends. They said they had a hard time reminding themselves it was not actually Ann there up on stage.
I remember when Ann won the Governor's mansion. We gathered on the Congress Avenue Bridge linked arms and marched to the capitol bldg. I wore my Ann Richards T-shirt that had all the winning headlines around Texas including "She Whups Him!" Sadly, I wore the same T-shirt when Ann was lying in State at the capitol after she passed on.
Ann was a Great Woman! See the show and remember her, even if you never had the pleasure of having seen her in real life. You will be inspired! :patriot:
