So I'm at the Kaiser lab getting a blood draw from a union phlebotimist
She's wearing a button that says "DANGER! Educated Union Member at Work" and it was in the form of a standard industrial warning sign.

I told here I liked the button and asked if she got any negative reactions about openly supporting the union given all the anti-union sentiment out there.

She pulled the needle out of my arm, held it up, smiled and said "No, no one has said anything to ME."

3. lol. yeah, like you are going to argue with someone holding a needle
i have had a lot of bloodwork done, and there have been good experiences and bad. it is an art form.... i'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to piss of the person who is going to stick a needle in your arm. lol.

6. My understanding is that Kaiser has worked to create a good working relationship
between Management and Unions. One of the things (along with not-for-profit structure) that makes that system work reasonably well.

I could be wrong, but that has been my understanding of it, as a Kaiser member.

7. Everyone I've talked to at Kaiser seems happy to be working there
And the unions are well-accepted. It seems to be a great model, non-profit, one-stop shopping, and I have always gotten really good care from Kaiser. Gosh it's almost like--GASP!!--socialised medicine!
