"Put your pants on and go home!"
It seems that Sen. Tom Coburn and another friend of Sen. Ensign tried an intervention on the latter to get him to stop seeing his paramour, Cindy Hampton...

This, from the U.S. Senate Ethics Committee report, just out:

"During the meeting with Coburn and others, Ensign agreed to write a letter ending the affair with Cindy Hampton - but the report says he quickly called his mistress and told her to ignore the letter.

Two days after the intervention - which took place on Valentine's Day in 2008 - Ensign's car was spotted in the parking lot of a hotel, as was Ms. Hampton's car.

One of the friends of Ensign called him on the phone and said, "I know exactly where you are. I know exactly what you are doing. Put your pants on and go home."

Rachel Maddow had delicious stuff in her report today on Andrea Mitchell's show...

Can't wait to see this in Tweety's "sideshow" segment on Hardball!

Extreme Classicism. Mostly just silly, but ironically actually pointing to 20th-century painting concerns of flattening out space. So: "Neo" and "Classicism."

My understanding is plenty of other neo-classicists thought it was weird, too.

I was gonna ask where the Friday Challenge is, but I see you've already answered the question.

30. Edwards Was Awful, But Ensign's Is Far Worse
Ensign made his parents committ perjury. Ensign literally forced himself on the woman that he had an affair with.

32. I dunno. What Edwards did to Elizabeth, esp. considering her health, was pretty awful.
But I'll bet that Ensign would've done worse, given the same set of circumstances...that guy is unmitigated garbage...

33. At Least Edwards' Affair Was Consensual
The woman that Ensign had an affair was his employee. In addition, her husband was also his employee. The family was entirely dependent on Ensign. She didn't want the affair, but Ensign badgered her into it.

Ensign was far worse.

What gets to me is that usually some of the biggest critics are the ones who are doing far worse things than the people they point the finger at so self righteously.

29. If you put a hashtag in your Tweet...
Edited on Fri May-13-11 01:41 PM by Hissyspit
when you send a message on Twitter using your account with 140 characters or less, it gets collected with all other Twitter posts with the same hashtag, so that people can find it, it can be tracked as a "trending" popular topic, etc.

"If you Tweet with a hashtag on a public account, anyone who does a search for that hashtag may find your Tweet."

http://support.twitter.com/entries/49309-what-are-hashtags-symbols

"A hash tag is simply a way for people to search for tweets that have a common topic. For example, if you search on #LOST (or #Lost or #lost, because it's not case-sensitive), you'll get a list of tweets related to the TV show. What you won't get are tweets that say 'I lost my wallet yesterday' because "lost" isn't preceded by the hash tag."

47. What makes me worry more about this country than politicians
having affairs, is that the are so dumb. Eg, he KNEW people were watching him, yet both he and she drove their personal and apparently very recognizable cars to their love nest and left them in the parking lot like a sign saying 'we are here'.

Was there no other way to get there to avoid leaving the evidence in the parking lot?

Same thing with politicians writing emails that they should know can be retrieved, but how many times now have they been caught because of that?

But yet, these are best and brightest? We depend on them to govern this country? Surely there are smarter people in this country?

It does explain why were are in the mess we are in though.
