3. He said the only country that belongs to the OECD, not
the only country in the world. In case you don't know what the OECD, or Organization For Economic Cooperation And Development, is here is a link to their website.

6. Which is why, with all that free markup efficiency
we have the highest costs per capita, the highest administrative costs per capita, and some basically mediocre outcomes.

9. In the 80's when their mantra of saving money started these
vultures were locked and loaded.... However, over the decades, it has become clear that the profits reaped from denying infants and others health care was that it is a ponzi scheme. It needs to be shut down. Michael Moore's own life has been in the cross hairs of these for profit schemers...

20. Remember when Claritin was this ambiguous thing about flowers and hot air balloons?
THEN - oh those many years ago - they couldn't say what it did. The viewer was prompted to ask their doctor what this "Claritin" actually did.

THEN they got some friends that they knew in DC to allow them to SAY what it did but it had to be controlled by also giving the possible side effects. Those seem to be endless.

but the purpose is to get the patient to demand a "scrip" for the stuff they saw on TV and if your doctor doesn't write the scrip then you go find one who will.

They are inflating demand and that works.

that expressly PROHIBITS its public health insurance system (Medicare) from negotiating drug prices with pharmaceutical companies.

14. The U.S. is special in SO many ways - by FAR the highest incarceration rate of any OECD country-
"When comparing prison populations in 2000, the United States again stands far above the norm with an incarceration rate five times as high as the OECD average and three times larger than the Czech Republic, ranking second." http://stats.oecd.org/oecdstat_metadata/ShowMetadata.ashx?Dataset=CSP6&Coords=%5BSUB%5D.%5BPRISON%5D&Lang=en

U.S is one of only two OECD countries that has the death penalty. The other is Japan, where executions occur only rarely. http://www.newsbatch.com/deathpenalty.htm

U.S. is the only OECD nation with NO paid vacation days or paid holidays required by law. http://thesocietypages.org/socimages/2010/01/31/paid-holidaysvacation-days-in-the-u-s-versus-other-oecd-countries/

US 34th out of 40 OECD nations for infant mortality rates

Highest income inequality among 20 wealthy nations: http://thesocietypages.org/socimages/2008/01/22/inequality-among-affluent-nations/

17. I am uninsured and just came from making an appointment
to see a podiatrist. I've never been to this doctor before and was not being referred. The receptionist made me feel like I was some kind of criminal because I didn't have health insurance, despite my assurance to pay cash on the barrel head. She didn't seem to understand the notion of being self-employed and priced out of the market. In any case, it upset me so much I'm going to cancel the appointment and go elsewhere. If I wasn't so pissed off, I'd probably be crying. I bet the place is a pocket of Republican assholes.
