GET YOUR CORPORATE HANDS OFF MY GOVERNMENT |
|
I am a Democrat and these are the things I want:
no torture, no enhanced interrogation, no rendition dismantle the prison industrial complex mandatory labeling of gmo foods end the war on drugs end the wars in afghanistan and iraq cut the military budget by about half protect our fresh water from fracking invest in clean energy (coal and nukes are not clean energy) end big oil subsidies end big corn subsidies corporations are not people restore the fourth amendment overturn citizens united end the patriot act end the bush tax cuts repeal the hyde amendment restore our public schools repair our infrastructure get rid of insider voting machines quit stealing peoples' homes quit offshoring peoples' jobs break up the corporate media conglomerate regulate wall street regulate the regulators of wall street tax wall street's transactions leave social security alone outlaw commodities speculation check the power of the supreme court make corporations pay their taxes or gtfo stop corporations from killing citizens restore the social safety net single-payer healthcare equal rights for all in the eyes of the law stop prosecuting whistleblowers
Basically I want to not be stolen from, poisoned, lied to, silenced or enslaved. So I can, you know, live, be free and pursue a little bit of happiness. So I can be a productive citizen (not a consumer but a citizen) of a free and great society.
Your corporate rights end where my human rights begin.
What do you guys think? Are these things in line with Democratic values, or is it me & Bernie against the world?
thanks for reading,
Simple

Love the list. Of course, we'll here the same list in the running up to 2012, but implementation afterwards....????

I'll certainly vote for Good Cop rather than Insane Cop. I do admire his pokerface, maybe he's got some aces up his sleeve.
