Eaglet Rescue
I know many DUers have been watching the Eagle family in Decorah, Iowa, and thought you might want to check in right now to the Eagle family at the Hancock Wildlife in Sidney, BC.

The rescue is an eaglet who they believe has it's foot or talon wrap around fishing line inside the nest and is stuck in the one spot of the nest.

At this moment they're setting up a crane, and is being narrated. They just said the mama is showing signs of distress over the commotion.

The crane is now zooming up.

Of course, I'm still streaming the Decorah family as I watch this rescue.

1. They're at the nest now
The trapped eaglet has been the nest bully to his siblings. The local school kids named him Donald, after Donald Trump.
Poor little guy, he's been trapped for a few days.

Mom got all upset & started calling Dad. He came home & both have either been perched nearby or soaring around the nest all protective.

They're using a crane instead of climbing as the tree is dead & too dangerous to climb.
:hi:

2. They just got him freed, and now they're bringing him down.
I'm not sure why they're bringing him down, maybe he's been injured or something?

3. If he showed a sign of injury they said they'd remove him
to nurse him back to health.

Looks like they're doing camera maintenance. Removing the poop from one camera & repositioning the wind-blown other.

4. They just put him back!
They put him on the side opposite of where the twine was. Now he can go back to bullying his siblings. :)

6. I wish the Decorah Eagle site still had the chat feature that this site has
It did for a while and it was so nice.
