Early in the morning of May 21st, gather up a bunch of your old clothes and go near your local evangelical churches and put little piles of them scattered about

While I may not sign up to be a big C Christian, I do try to be a good person.

But Camping was pretty specific about the 6:00pm (IN EACH TIME ZONE!) end of the world complete with earthquakes.

5. I have a neighbour who has prayed for me for a number of years ... would |

it be a bad thing to leave an outfit on my front step? She's a nice lady who I'm thinking believes I'm destined for hell ... so even if she was left behind, this might brighten up an otherwise bad day for her.
(I kid .... she's a nice lady and I actually worry about her).

6. Even 99% of evangelicals realize Harold Camping is a complete huckster... |

so I kind of doubt they'd fall for it.

7. I am a Christian. I believe at some point there will be a rapture and the Lord will come back |

I do not believe anyone can specifically pinpoint the date

10. Exactly. Matthew 24:36 -- that's why Harold Camping doesn't make any sense |

picking a specific date, and in the last few days, a specific hour also. What part of "no man can know the day or the hour" he doesn't get is beyond me. And that's why the vast, vast majority of Christians realize that he's spouting complete, utter nonsense.
My bet is most of Camping's followers have never read the Bible...they just take Camping's word for what it means and says. A lot of the other stuff he teaches is so out there that it isn't even close to what any other church teaches.

13. How about just donating that clothing to Goodwill? Only an insignificant few are buying into this. |
|
It's just one crackpot radio preacher promoting this May 21 "rapture" idiocy, I certainly don't see a vast number of people -- evangelicals or not -- picking it up and running with it, except for jokes.
This is just a blip on the crazy screen, it will be all over by May 22. If you have spare clothes to give away, then give them to organizations who will see that your discarded clothing actually benefits people in need.
