Joplin, MO - Official 'Where can we do the most good?" Thread

Can someone tell me where we can send money to those who would help the most in Joplin?

I don't really care about politics - just results on this front

Does anyone have places we can send money - and keep in mind I am unemployed for the next 2 weeks - but want to send it where it can do the most good

As I understand, unless you're donating blood, anything you give to Red Cross just goes to the next emergency

Where can we send money where it can be used now?

One of the local KC stations is running a telethon right now. It has links on the site to Red Cross, to Dept of Emergency Management, etc.

6. It's nonstop here

but Joplin is what would be considered a short "day trip" for me-well under two hours.

Check that site out. Another for local news out of KC would be kctv.com. It's CBS. Otherwise, I'd check all the Springfield stations.

take a couple days to sort out what is needed where as they are still in immediate crisis mode.
