Watching the Ireland speech and getting retroactively embarrassed by Bush all over again.

While I disagree greatly with many of his positions and policies, I'm so glad the world associates us with Obama instead of Bush now :)

(edited for wine buzz spelling)

1. Guinness is NOT beer.
I once made that mistake. And then tried to stand up.

8. You and I both!
They are a whole different creature than any beer I've ever consumed. Powerful is the word that comes to mind. They I tried one in the US...is something different with Guinness here? I still swear they tasted like two different drinks. Are they not the same, or was I just caught up in the moment on vacation?

Ireland. A slice of heaven on earth. :loveya:

12. As someone who has lived with alcoholics...
active and non-active... for most of my 58 years, I kind of figured he must have been shitfaced much of the time.

Or on a buzz, at the very least.

20. Yeah, old Smirking "Talk the Walk" Chimp is the definition of the only drunks that AA can't help.
You know, the ones who are constitutionally incapable of being honest with themselves (or anyone else, for that matter.)

Those of us who finally sober up finally figure out that everyone around us knew we were alcoholics before we did (and certainly before we would admit it.)

Just another sign that Dim Son is still a practicing alcoholic. Though in his case, practice certainly doesn't make perfect.

As for me, I've had enough.

21. Exactly
When I finally realized I was nothing but a drunk I quit. Damn if I'm not a happy man now because of that decision. Everyone that drinks alcoholic beverages are not drunks but every drunk drinks alcoholic beverages and there is a difference there. Some never see that. I'll still enjoy a pigs eye every once in a while but a six pack will about go bad before it all gets drank now. :hi:

23. I shouldn't mention that I once told a USAF guy
that barley wine was just another type of beer

Wiki Barley Wine

It is sold in 1/3 pint measures and is 8.5 - 12% alcohol by volume. He got through three pints (about equivalent to 9 double whiskeys)

and a liter of moonshine.
