Rep. Garamendi (D-CA) is brilliant on C-SPAN right now |
|
Never heard him before .
He is giving right wingers a real education on military priorities, saving Medicare, the history of the folly in Iraq, the need to raise taxes for the wealthy...
He's on for 15 more minutes. Tune in if you can.

5. Garamendi is very cool. |
|
I've actually gotten to spend some time with him. Smart guy with an excellent grasp on the issues. He'll answer a direct question with a direct answer. No politispeak here. I wish to hell either him or Debra Bowen would run against Dianne "I-got-stinking-rich-from-the-war-I-voted-for" Feinstein in 2012 for the California Senate seat (she'll be 79, fer crissakes!). Unfortunately, Dianne is a CDP dahlink and they won't allow anyone real to challenge her.

6. That may be in the cards since Garamendi has no connection to the district he represents. |
|
He doesn't even live in CA-10. Garamendi is a career pol however and this isn't his first trip to Washington. However, he is in his mid-60s and if he's going to run for Senate he'd better do it soon.

10. Through the wonders of gerrymandering his ranch actually straddles both districts |
|
Edited on Wed May-25-11 12:06 PM by Brother Buzz
And through the wonders of gerrymandering we have been in and out of the same districts over the years. He is my Congressman, and he totally connects with me, something his predecessor, Ellen "I was for it before I was against it" Tauscher fell short of.

11. None of his property is in CA-10. |
|
It's adjacent, but not in, CA-10. Why he felt the need to fib about it is beyond me. He's my MOC too. Tauscher fit the district when she was first elected -- and anyone to the left of her never would have been elected with the boundaries at that time. The district was remade into a somewhat more Democratic area through redistricting and changes in the demographics in Lamorinda/central CoCo.

7. I always vote for Garamendi. |
|
He falls in the same category as Ms Bowen as a true public servant who does not confuse that with serving corporate profits.
