Tornadoes on the ground all over KC area thru Sedalia
No link-getting info from texts from friends watching as we speak.

Cells just keep showing up and there seems to be no end.

2. Please do what you can to take care of yourself.
I've never seen or been in a tornado, but lived in KC for a few years and had a couple of close calls.

Terrifying experiences.

3. Getting ready to log off.
Just had touchdown three minutes ago in my county, according to KMBC and a new tornado warning-the third so far. NWS says one thing but the storm spotters sending me texts say that I need to think about the basement soon.

Sedalia is still on the ground.

7. KCMO, KCK
both sides of the state line. There are multiple cells. Confirmed touchdown with injuries earlier in Louisberg, KS and on the ground in Sedalia, MO.

17. Louisberg? Yikes. That's close to KC - about 20 miles
Used to go there to the Cider Mill with my dad for cider doughnuts a loooong time ago.

I hope the apple trees in Weston (Platte Co MO) are okay - best damn apples on earth.

18. I like the apples in Weston
but I always get mine in Waverly instead.

I don't know how everything is right now up there.

Okay, maybe not kill. Just mangle a bit.

What do they grow in Waverly?

20. Quite a few different kinds.
I always buy my Granny Smiths for baking. They have an Apple Festival in September and it's always fun, especially when they have the street dance/beer garden. (Waverly, unfortunately, was also hit by a tornado on Sunday.)

The orchards in Waverly also grow peaches. I know that Peter's also sells sorghum, cider, and honey.

10. Sedalia looks like a mess
I am watching KMBC as they fly over it. Now we have another small cell heading towards me. Although now I don't see it on the radar. (aha, there it is - it went east across the river instead of north. But now the sunshine may be putting more heat and moisture into the air.

And to think I was complaining about rain this morning. (after I got drenched last night and spent half an hour mopping up water.

I am thinking about driving down there tomorrow, to help out on my day off.

11. They're still assessing the damage at this time.
Good ol' Katie Horner warned them that they had a few hours for clean up, S&R, assessments, etc before the next round.

A friend of a friend (I know the person but not all that well-acquaintance) lived in one of the trailers that were hit. The whole family will be staying with my friend until there's time to assess the damage. Luckily, everyone was at work or at school when it hit.

14. Sedalia,
a town of about 30,000, took some decent damage today. A couple of trailer courts are gone and some businesses are damaged. Unsubstantiated reports of injuries too. (It's about a half-hour from my location, which was under multiple tornado warnings today.)

It's not over yet. There's a second round starting to roll in soon. The wind just picked up here and I think it's sprinkling.

Had one touch down just a couple of miles away from where I work. Moved on through Mid Missouri area and into eastern and northeastern Missouri.
