20/20 is reporting about a soldier who had a live RPG |
|
shot into his stomach, and lived to talk about it. Next up, they focus on the doctors who worked on him.
Heroes. :patriot:

1. I don't think being shot with an RPG is heroic, I think it's terrible. nt |

2. I didn't say getting shot was heroic. |

The doctors, nurses, helicopter crew...yeah, they are heroes. Every single one of them risked their own life to bring a fellow soldier back home.
They didn't have to do that.

3. Must not have detonated. |
|
According to Wikipedia, the boost charge of the RPG-7 drives the warhead out of the launcher at 115 meters per second, or 375 ft/sec, or 257 miles per hour.
And with a weight of between 5 and 10 pounds, that sonofabitch would HURT when it hits you!
The booster rocket brings the warhead's speed up to 295 m/s, or 962 ft/s, or 659mph.
I'm guessing the rocket was still in the boost stage when it hit him.
