She's got ridiculous unfavorables with everyone but wingnuts. She's also a terrible candidate. She'd get crushed.

3. But as Hal Sparks has said, "Do you really want to put that bullet in the chamber?" |
|
I mean, what if there's some terrible October Surprise and she actually WINS?
I mean, yes... under normal circumstances she wouldn't have a chance.
But what if something really, truly awful happens?
Do you really want to put that bullet in the chamber?

6. No. Like said upthread: be careful what you wish for |

The absolute best way to avoid the complete destruction of the United States is to not let Palin and her web-footed six-toed genetic flub followers anywhere near the reins of power. The best way for that to happen is for her to never run.

13. In 1967, In Ecuador, a foot powder was elected mayor of a town of 4000. |
|
From Wikipedia:
A bizarre incident involving a fictitious write-in candidacy occurred in the small town of Picoazá, Ecuador in 1967. A company ran a series of campaign-themed advertisements for a foot powder called Pulvapies. Some of the slogans used included "Vote for any candidate, but if you want well-being and hygiene, vote for Pulvapies", and "For Mayor: Honorable Pulvapies." The foot powder Pulvapies ended up receiving the most votes in the election.<29><30><31>

8. Anyone who is going to vote for Palin better take the time to read Blind Alligence first by |
|
Mr.Bailey. He is a Fox diehard conservative (true blue) and another one of those christains who think religion should govern the united states. The book will make you think twice. Please read his book and Mr Dunn's book. Then you can make a decision.
The woman is all show.

Yale grad. 2 term governor. Big name. A record as governor to run on. What does she have? A short circuited term as governor. Violent rhetoric that lead to a shooting. Genuine cluelessness about all issues.

well over 40 years. I have come to the unfortunate conclusion that anything can happen in American politics today and I take nothing for granted. I do not laugh at Palin, nor think her amusing, nor a joke. Quite the contrary. I think she's dangerous. I certainly don't "hope" that anyone votes for her. As others have said, "Be careful what you wish for." Things can change rapidly. If, just prior to the next presidential election, there's another large, domestic terror attack a la 9/11, a conservative candidate, even a Palin, could easily be swept into power by a fearful electorate.

11. Shh! Don't tell them that! |

I think you're right, Palin is a losing proposition, but I wouldn't count our chickens before they hatch either. Sure, she's a joke now, but she suddenly gains a lot of credibility if she wins the primary and becomes the candidate. And that may lead to a win if the economy is still in the tank. And if it doesn't lead to a win, it can still move the public debate further toward crazy, and we don't need any more of that.
