Who does this? Who endangers a child for a photo op?

Sarah Palin, former GOP vice presidential candidate, talks with her daughter Piper, left, sitting the back of a motorcycle with her father Todd

?

Can't fit a helmet on her swelled head?

Oh, the wingers made great sport of this photo

Think we'll hear a peep out of them about this?

2. My heavens that helmut looks enormous...
Do you think she got the gargantuan one so that it wouldn't muss her hair or is her head really that big?

6. I thought the same...
I seriously had to look at the photos a second time to search for any sign of "endangerment".

27. Maybe because it's a mini-me helmet rather than a child helmet?
and no chin guard.

I wouldn't have called it out, probably, but I can see where the ultra-safety conscious might consider it wrong to have a kid riding with an 'improper' helmet. Those helmets also look like a type that I thought was illegal in some states. It's been years since I rode though. Just not into it for myriad reasons. So I could be wrong about the helmets.

5. First thing I thought of was Michael Jackson
dangling his baby over the balcony. Then there was the Aussie Animal guy dangling his child in front of a gator.

8. Taking a kid for a motorcycle ride is endangerment?
Nah. People do it all the time. As long as the person in front is a safe rider, the kid will be fine. I think you're pushing the point on this one.

That really was a terrible campaign. "Competence, not ideology"- such an exciting slogan.

15. No serious biker would accept the helmet-fit SP has above, because that's HEADACHE city!
Were I to see such a person+helmet around, I'd pretty much assume that was NOT their helmet and whoever was wearing it was going to be wearing it only for a very short time, because an ill fitting helmet gives your head CIRCULATION problems which are quite unpleasant.

where's the "endangerment?"

or does "endangerment" like "child abuse" now mean "it's abuse/endangerment when people I don't like do stuff with their kids that I also don't like?"

28. On another thread here at DU, people
Were upset that a guy was happy his kid was dating again, and the dad made it sound like it was a "plus" the girl was a cheerleader.

You'd have thought that guy was supporting cannibalism or something, from all the outrage his post created!

17. If this OP doesn't win the award for daily over-the-top faux outrage.....
it's a close second.

Endangering a child?

I couldn't really give two shits what the Palins do with their kids, but this is just absurd. What are they, or any parents, for that matter, supposed to do? Lock their children in a padded room til they're 21?

For fucks sake. Get over it already.
