Egyptian exec accused in attack on NY hotel maid
NEW YORK (AP) — The former chairman of one of Egypt's major banks has been arrested on charges of sexually abusing a maid at a Manhattan hotel, just weeks after the arrest of former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn on similar allegations.

Police say Mahmoud Abdel Salam Omar was arrested at the Pierre Hotel on Monday morning.

The 74-year-old businessman is accused of sexually abusing the maid and holding her against her will inside his hotel room.

Police say the incident happened on Sunday night.

I'll presume that he's innocent before proven guilty but IF he is proven guilty then I hope he spends a significant amount of his life in prison.

1. You have got to be kidding...
Do these types never read the news? Maybe he is innocent, but DAMN, if he is guilty (and this damned stupid), throw the book at him.

Entitled elite, indeed. :eyes:

2. Apparently This Sort Of Behavior Has Become Rampant In Hotels
A lot of hotels now send a man when a guest requests towels and such. I guess the Pierre didn't think their guests behave that way.

6. I think it's politically correct to pretend to presume innocence
When the desired outcome involves horrible vengeful torture by the prison general population.

On the other hand, he could be the innocent victim of a blackmail attempt. Rich foreign guy, good target. Egyptian, probably Islamic, even better. And a bankster, how can you beat that?

This one might actually have to wait for the evidence, before we describe the terrors to be visited on him.

:hi:

5. wow, you can get away with anything if you are rich enough. Except
here. Maybe a few countries need to reexamine their consciences in the way their men treat women. Perhaps. It should be heard before the world, keep your dicks in your pants when you come here. We will put your asses in jail.

10. With DSK the right wing could cry: "SOCIALIST!"
With Omar, they can cry: "MUSLIM!"

Either DSK and Omar are bleeping pervs who need to quit and be imprisoned, or there's something suspicious brewing.

11. Why are you worried what the RW would say?
Isn't "ATTEMPTED RAPIST" more primitive than politics?
