They don't want to save Medicare. They hate it. They have always wanted to destroy it.
They don't want to save Social Security. Since the days it was created, they have been looking to demolish it.
They don't really care about poor people. They will not lose a lot of sleep if people starve to death so long as they have theirs.
They believe they are morally superior and that they work harder than Democrats.
They don't want to balance the budget. They want to spend us into blind oblivion so they can create a crisis so they can cut social programs that they hate.
But to listen to the Republicans lie about it, they want to save Medicare and strengthen Social Security. They want poor people to have jobs and make our economy stronger. They believe they are superior but they won't admit it. They don't understand that people know they are lying.
And there ain't no good chain gangs...

sponsors to so away with Medicare since the wave of retiring baby boomers will provide one of the largest potential income generating opportunities ever. As another, smarter DU'er posted, the corporate baby boomer feeding frenzy is scheduled to begin in 8 or so years.
