Elephant assists in clearing Joplin, Missouri tornado debris

An elephant from the Picadilly Circus was on hand in Joplin Missouri this week to help clean up tornado destruction. The animal was used to drag destroyed vehicles closer to the curb.

“I think the circus people generally want to help, but I think this a bad idea,” one woman told WDAF-TV.

12. After Katrina, the Audubon Zoo elephants helped
There are pictures of them helping to clear the hundreds of trees that were down on the zoo and Audubon Park grounds after the storm.
