Weiner photo is akin to a picture of a woman in a bra. |

He didn't even show his 'stuff'. It is a picture of his (or someone's) underpants with a bulge.

5. I remember when I was a preteen there was a Sears Roebeck |
|
catalog that had the photo of a male model in his t-shirt and bvds with a bulge. Kids passed that catalog around giggling over the photo, after the media had created such a fervor because Sears had asked that the catalog be tossed out because of the photo. Apparently they had received so many complaints about it Sears felt compelled to ask that parents throw away or return the catalog.
My mother used the image to explain some of the "fact of life" to me.

This is the photo I remember. http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/1259/was-a-models-penis-visible-in-a-1975-sears-catalogFunny thing is, that is not the image that Sears had the most complaints about from that catalog. The image at snopes was the one that had caused so much concern. http://www.snopes.com/business/hidden/sears.asp

CNN is has devolved into "A Current Affair" type programming packaged as news. :eyes: I can't believe they devote any time to anything that Breitbart fraud peddles.

12. Why are you calling it the Weiner Photo? |
|
Unless you're talking about an actual "weiner." ??
There's no proof that this is actually a photo of Anthony Weiner in his underwear, and I find it interesting that because someone said it was, we all assume that it is.
I can't believe actually "news" organizations are even reporting this.

What else can I call it in a subject header?
How about "The photo of the penis that is alleged to be that of Congressman Wiener"?
Nope, wouldn't fit.

It couldn't have been anything very interesting.
All kidding aside, calling it the Wiener photo DOES feed into the right wing meme. In the scale of world events, it's no big deal, but if you multiply such things, the countless times we ALL fall prey to their nonsense and repeat it (even without meaning to), it starts to add up.

33. Not honoring one's commitments is a character issue to many. |
|
Essentially, I've always felt that if I witnessed a person (even a friend) lie to a third party, that it was likely that I had been lied to by that person. That is where the issue of character enters into it.

to a young male college student, and she stated that she wasn't sure if it was her, and declined to call the police, the media reaction and interest on DU would be similar to the Weiner case.
