1. After some consideration, I think I find the subject a bit off.
It would be more telling -- as well as accurate -- if the real reason behind the 'occupying army' were shown and not a simple soldier. I think he missed a chance to make a more profound statement, because the 'intent' of the art, as I gather it, is pretty strong. Just misdirected.

But I'll be the very first to admit that I am terrible at interpreting art well, or deciding when a piece of art would be better off changed. I can't even draw stick figures well. :P
