Russia says NATO strikes in Libya leading to land operation

MOSCOW, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Saturday that the international coalition's actions in Libya are apparently preparing for a ground operation.

"We believe that they are moving towards a ground operation, deliberately or not," Lavrov told reporters in Odesa. "It will be lamentable."

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) said Saturday it used attack helicopters for the first time in its military operations against Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's forces.

British and French military officials confirmed that Apache helicopters and French Tigre and Gazelle attack aircraft were engaged in raids on Gaddafi's troops overnight.

It's not my father's Pravda. Pretty good reporting and a lot of information no one else is reporting.
