Will the logic indicting Edwards also extend to Schwarzenegger and GOP operatives who helped him |
|
Edited on Sat Jun-04-11 12:17 PM by blm
get out of his MANY personal messes when he was running? Surely it took quite a number of GOP operatives working for some time to spread around the bucks necessary to get Arnold into the governorship, especially to help the oil companies who needed Gray Davis out of that seat.
So...who all did the GOP have working on clean up for Arnold, again? As I recall, there were many, including some highly paid GOP strategists.

1. AS much as I detest what JE did to Elizabeth, it's a damn double |
|
standard indighting him. I can think of a long list of Pubs who are blatantly guilty of using campaigh funds for personal use but were given a pass. The dipstick from Delaware is at the top of my list! She openly admitted using campaign funds to pay her rent, buy clothes, etc. but SHE wasa tea partier so IT'S OK!!

8. Exactly...GOP operatives had to have been working overtime to quash this at the time, and big $$$$ |
|
had to have been distributed - that combined with serious threats.

running for governor and all his peccadilloes were coming to light and then immediately suppressed by big money coming from somewhere. Arnold is rich but not that rich to have put out so many fires that are now reigniting. It's too bad that housekeepergate didn't come up when he was running for governor but maybe the powers behind the throne might have shut up her and Maria too.
My own :tinfoilhat: theory is that Maria did have an inkling but was silenced whether with money or threats until after his governorship ended.

9. blm, you are on your game as usual |

Even if he used his own money to hide this stuff that should be enough to charge him with the same thing Edwards was charged with because he didn't disclose it to the elections commission.
Same thing.
Thanks for pointing this out and recommended.

10. In Arnie's case he had to have extensive help from GOP operatives - he couldn't have covered all his |

bases alone and campaign at the same time. Probably same group of GOP thugs who worked to protect the dictatortot when he was running.

No doubt about it.
I never even thought about this until you mentioned it. Funny no one in the media is mentioning this.

15. Own money would mean no proble,. Standard would be |
|
would this be done if he was not running for office? And Edwards or Arnold or any rich man who wanted to keep wife from knowing would likely use their money to keep things calm.
But in Edwards case presumption was the elderly lady would not have paid the money if Edwards was not a candidate... thus making it a campaign contribution.
I very much disagree with them charging on this. When I first heard rumors of campaign funds being used I thought it was a crime... because I thought that meant it was from campaign fund, like donors from here contributing to his run. But it was rich people giving directly to his mistress and I don't care anymore. They wanted to, fine. (Assuming 98 year old was of sound mind)
But in any case, different state, different prosecutor. This guy after Edwards is a left over bush appointee (why?). As someone noted Edwards has an ex Obama administration attorney representing him... why would that guy think it should be him to try to get Washington to nix it? That made it un-nixable by Washington.
I'm assuming Obama got his pick into CA office... and often Dems aren't as stupid as republicans in what they charge who with.
I just don't want the Edwards kids going through more than they have

20. True, Arnold HAD enough money, but, could he tap it without Maria noticing and/or |
|
could he have gotten the large amount needed to cover so many scandalous relationships from other GOP kingpins who were personally invested in making him governor that year?
