A little good news. CT.House passes paid sick leave bill; Malloy to sign it
Edited on Sat Jun-04-11 03:11 PM by Bonhomme Richard
This is what Democrats are supposed to be doing.
"Connecticut moved closer Saturday to becoming the first state in the nation to require certain employers to provide their workers with paid sick time."
"The Democratic-controlled House of Representatives early Saturday morning approved legislation that requires businesses in the service industry with 50 or more employees to allow their workers to accrue one hour of sick time for every 40 hours worked. The bill passed on a 76-65 vote following more than 11 hours of debate, beginning Friday afternoon."

1. A bit of civilization in a ever insanely selfish country. Thanks for posting.

2. That's exactly what Dems are supposed to be doing
This is supposed to be the difference between us and them.

Under my employer's "generous" voluntary plan I earn ~ 1.5 hours less in sick time each year.

4. There are 101 Demcrats in the house (to the GOP's 50)
yet this liberal law passed by a single vote. Strange.
