Beginning on May 5, Stack and Wolfe began floating a rumor that there was a big sex scandal about to be revealed, involving a Democrat. How this rumor came to be they won't say. Stack says Wolfe told him to tweet it. Stack does seem to have been the first to do so. Wolfe then went on a mad retweeting frenzy, spreading the rumor and attributing it to @goatsred (Stack). Wolfe often copied @RepWeiner on these tweets.

Stack also contended that while he sent out the May 5 tweet first hinting that a “big time” Congressman was about to be ensnared in a sex scandal, he claimed that Wolfe actually provided him that information. Wolfe, Stack said, told him that he had heard the rumor from a source who worked for a well-known conservative web site.

After Stack sent out the initial tweet, Wolfe quickly ran with the rumor, attributing it--“via@goatsred”--to his online buddy. In retweets, Wolfe immediately attached Weiner’s name to the rumor, wondering “@RepWeiner are you this Congressman?” Stack did not have an explanation as to why Wolfe sought to launder the rumor through him. He also vehemently denied that he was Wolfe.

On May 11 Wolfe got more specific with the rumor, referencing Chris Lee, who was involved in a photo scandal. First Stack tweets it.

There was the bunch that was systematically downvoting leftwing posters and sources on Digg -- I think they called themselves the Digg Patriots.

And as far back as 2004, when DU was invaded by disruptors after the election, there were strong signs that many of them were working in teams to recommend each other's threads and reinforce the disinformation that was being sowed -- all of which often dragged legitimate DUers into following false trails, led to charges and counter-charges of trollery being thrown around, and generally caused a lot of bad feeling.

I don't know if it's just a pattern on the right to act like bullies and have no regard for the truth, if they're all getting their dirty tricks lessons from a central source, or if it might even be some of the same people going from one disruption to another.

But whatever the root of the infestation, it's something the left doesn't do and is therefore likely to be caught amidships by every time it happens.

Friday evening I logged onto Twitter to find that I had about a dozen new mentions in less than an hour, which is a rare occurrence. When I checked one of the posts that I had been tagged in I saw that it was a picture that had supposedly been tweeted to me by Congressman Anthony Weiner.

The account that these tweets were sent from <@patriotusa76> was familiar to me; this person had harassed me many times after the Congressman followed me on Twitter a month or so ago. Since I had dealt with this person and his cohorts before I assumed that the tweet and the picture were their latest attempts at defaming the Congressman and harassing his supporters.

....but CNN, et al, can't? The media is complicit, again, in a smear tactic by a much-discredited right-wing muckraker.

"claiming cache of intimate photos and online communications with beleaguered congressman"... just saw it on his twitter feed. The link provided takes you to his Big Government website w/a short statement about it. I don't want to link to this disgusting site but thought folks here might want to know.

I have no idea what further hi-jinks he has up his lying-a** sleeve, since there does not seem to be many details yet. But he alluded to "more to come".

As a sidenote: Joined Twitter literally just last night and added Breightbart among those I follow for this very sort of reason. As they say- keep your friends close and enemies closer.

After Breitbart's press conference yesterday, where he attempted to save Weiner's family, I came back to your dk posts, as well as some of kpetes. The info STILL looks good to me, but I'm not a tech. I thought twitter was primarily for cell phones, until my wife told me otherwise, today. I did used to send instant messages in the early '80's, on Vax and Unix mainframes , but I'm way out of the loop today.

I still don't understand if Goatred, patriot76, 'Wolf', Stack, are with the wrecking crew, or just a separate group of secret sharers of Breitbart's syphilis.
