Why does MSNBC . . .
. . . have so many bloody commercials for itself, repeated over and over and over and over, sometimes back to back.

Is there not enough material to fill up more time? Do they have any idea how annoying it is?

1. I never understood why any channel did that
aren't I already watch said channel, why do you need to have a commercial about yourself on your channel?

2. So true...
I was painting a room last year (took WAY too long) and had the tv on MSNBC and I swear the ads nearly drove me insane.

And that was before the "Lean Forward" campaign.

6. They would probably be happy to sell it to paying advertisers.
Most of it, anyways. They can't just stretch their programming to fill space, they have schedules...

11. Online
It's not commercial advertising. that I could understand. Just advertisements for their own news shows repeated seemingly dozens of times per hour, each.

13. Online,
I downloaded zune to my laptop (you can use itunes also) and the open zune to marketplace and download podcasts for free and play them when I want, msnbc audio is usually posted before midnight and video a little later, I usually watch the next day on my computer or transfer it to my mp3 player and listen too it in my car or when I go for a walk!
