Passengers thwart Turkish jet hijack attempt
Passengers thwart Turkish jet hijack attempt
Police take suspect from plane in Istanbul Turkish police led the suspect away following the hijack attempt

Passengers on a Turkish Airlines jet have overpowered a man who tried to hijack their flight from Norway to Istanbul, security sources say.

Turkish media reported that the man put on a mask and tried to force his way into the cockpit, saying he had a bomb.

He is said to have demanded that the plane return to Oslo before being subdued by passengers.

The man was arrested when the plane landed at Istanbul's Ataturk airport. No-one was hurt.

Turkish media said the suspect was a Turkish citizen from a Kurdish village in the south-eastern region of Anatolia.

1. This is why it's highly unlikely that an attack like that of 9/11 will be successful again
Passengers will not allow it.

3. Before a hi-jacking meant going to Cuba or somewhere
Now, it means death. Hijackings will not be sat through peacefully by passengers ever again.

4. "He demanded the plane return to Oslo..."?
It came from Oslo. He boarded in Oslo. He was already in Oslo. So why get on the fucking plane in the first place?!?

5. Maybe he was the stupid "advance" terrorist sent to see
how badly the next hi-jacking would be beaten by the passengers!

6. Okay . . . I've got a stupid question.
Why did the guy put on a mask? Did he think that someone might recognize him? After he had been sitting on the plane for who-know-how-long? Does that make any sense at all?
