US drone attacks kill "at least 18" in Pakistan
Three suspected U.S. drone attacks have killed at least 18 people in the tribal areas along Pakistan’s border with Afghanistan, local officials say.

The first two drone strikes hit a compound and religious school in the South Waziristan tribal area, Pakistani intelligence officials told Al-Jazeera. The third drone attack hit a vehicle traveling on the border, according to the Associated Press.

1. Why are they doing this???
This is criminal, and now the blood is on Obama's hands. It is not Bush anymore.

I wonder, has he ever read any of the reports by war correspondents who were at the scene after one of these drones massacred villagers in Afghanistan or Pakistan? Does he know what children look like AFTER a drone attack? Or what a parent feels as they search through the body parts, because there are NO bodies that are whole after one of these cowardly weapons operated from thousands of miles away, land on a village?

Can he picture a mother being told what has happened, rushing to the place where her child was playing just minutes before, desperately trying to find some part of her child's body, an arm, a leg, to bury?

Robert Fisk wrote what he saw in Afghanistan. We are war criminals. I cannot support this mindless slaughter. Do Democrats really support this? Where is the outrage there used to be when Bush was doing this?

In fact, it is one of the main reasons I will be turning in my Passport and changing my citizenship.

I just could no longer think of any way to look my kids in the face and rationalize choosing the US life for them over the Japanese life for them.

No health care in favor of extreme spending on killing people.

I couldn't defend it anymore and Obama was the last shred of hope I had left for the US. I had planned to leave for good when Bush won in 2004, but wound up waiting another 6 years. Obama broke my spirit and my last bit of hope for the US.

6. I don't blame you. I think about it also lately.
I am ashamed that we could not stop it and each time I read about another child being killed, and there is no reaction, no emotion, from anyone, our leaders, our media personel, no one. They don't even mention it.

I think it is a very sick, desentized, society where people don't seem to have much feeling anymore for other human beings.

3. it's not 'they', it's 'we'
you and I and every other US taxpayer paid for that missle, and the drone, and paid to have the pilot trained, etc.

In short, every time someone is killed over there, WE all paid for it. :(

10. and your reason for that would be?
I'm curious, because I would prefer mine to be the same way, and I don't see a "Don't spend my taxes on hostile occupations" checkbox.

5. Some within the administration recoginze the counter-productive
nature and dangerousness of letting the CIA run their war with increased vigor. But, Obama has chosen to stay the course.

Good. Progress.

Sounds like the treasure trove of intelligence collected at bin Laden's compound is paying dividends.
