2. Yes
As in "don't let your toe cross that line"

It's a pet peeve, I admit it.

7. I can also make a case for "tow the line."
Old-style canal boats were towed along by people walking paths on the banks hauling the boats on ropes. A person who wasn't "toeing the line" wasn't putting full effort into his job.

11. He's not the only guy to get busted either. If fact, it happens to
republicans more than democrats lately, which doesn't seem to fit well with your theory.

6. There's a story from the early Cold War days.
Edited on Mon Jun-06-11 08:39 PM by hobbit709
Where the KGB called in some ambassador and showed him pictures involving him and some young lady that they had used to entrap him. They told him they would make the pictures public unless he fed them the information they wanted.
The ambassador looked at the photos and said "These are pretty good. Can I have some copies for my wife and my mistress?"
When they realized they couldn't blackmail him, they gave up.

8. Or maybe "Keep your clothes on and don't send the pictures to your victims while married."
And Spitzer hired the prostitutes. Not the "corporations."

13. That's just silly. He deserved to get caught for being monumentally stupid
and arrogant. What, he thought that nobody would find out? That nobody in DC was trying to dig up dirt on members of congress? If he's so sick in the head that rational thought couldn't stop him from tweeting his penis to total strangers then maybe he's too fucked up to serve.

17. On Twitter? I'm pretty sure he's the first. It's 2011 and he TRIED to send to total strangers.
He failed and sent it to ALL of his followers. People saw it. Lots of people. Then he freaked and said he was hacked. Then a few ladies who did get real images came forward. Hell, one of the "ladies" could have been Brietbart himself. Boner move, Weiner. That kind of lack awareness and/or ego is beyond explanation.

16. do you blame the PTB for Ensign, Lee, Foley, Sanford, Craig, Livingston
Those are all repubs caught in stupid sex-related scandals who resigned or had their careers ended.

If we're going to be critical of crazy repubs who rewrite history we should be careful about doing the same thing. A number of posters have suggested that only Democrats resign in these situations. Its not true. While Craig and Sanford didn't resign, their political careers were effectively terminated.
