God bless Bernie Sanders, and I pray for more in Congress with his grit and courage.

I know, I may as well be pissing into the wind. But I can dream, can't I?

Peace

4. Bernie Sanders

is what the Dems should be - or at least come close to. But they don't. I think Mr. Sanders is going to get my vote in 2012 whether it's write-in or whatever. I'm sick of evil Repubs and Dems who are - um - ineffective opposition at best. Both parties are bad enough that Mr. Sanders won't call himself either - and from a man like him, that's saying something.

7. I believe that the left has more probable heros than Bernie, who capitulates to the center (right)
at nearly every turn.

Off hand, the left has Chomsky, Moore, Ehrenreich, Wolfe, Klein, Nader, Assange, Manning, Choi, and Sheehan.

And name one before that.

18. You're kidding, right?
Medicare, civil rights, fair housing, ADA, IDEA, etc. are considered progressive.

Edited on Thu Jan-06-11 03:54 PM by cascadiance
Now with people like Ron Paul also behind that effort, you can argue that that wasn't "progressive", but I certainly think restoring some sense of accountability of our government's financial dealings is a progressive viewpoint.

And it was he that lead the filibuster against the "gift" of the tax cuts to the wealthy that Friday too...

23. Ron Paul's support doesn't stain us
He doesn't support the Shadow Gov't, and if he's willing to lend a hand to get some daylight there, the more the merrier.

14. want to name all the times he's purportedly capitulated to the center
and compare them to the times he's stood up for progressive values, working people and the poor? No, of course you don't. You prefer simply throwing shit. It's something you do day in and day out. Keyboard warrior whining away on a message board. Pathetic.

25. Because the Party has left us behind
In it's headlong rush to fill the gap left by the republicans on the center-right of the political spectrum. Obama's pics today for advisors would have been comfortable in Eisenhower's cabinets. Maybe even Reagan's.
