That's another thing that bothers me: the presumption of a particular structure of sexual relationship as "appropriate" for our public figures.

We're in the process of normalizing Gay marriage. And that is a great thing. An AWESOME thing, really, although it's happening far too slowly. But it's still a very narrow window of relationship types that we're approving. Imagine public figures who are avowed swingers. Or have an open marriage, or a stable polyamorous relationship.

Just once I'd love to see a politician and his wife admit that they can get freaky at times, and tell the prudish media to go pound sand.

I think this is his issue and his responsibility for the public embarassment but the resolution and the issues they have to deal with as a couple should remain private.

My take, I doubt that she even knew that he was doing this.

Fortunately, I think her career and her ability will stand on its own merits. She has a longstanding relationship with Hillary Clinton which would be as good a recommendation as anyone can ask for.
