2. No shit. If this is all it takes to get your undies in a bunch then I would suggest
you put me on ignore becuase this nothing compared to the stuff I've done.

Maybe that's why I tend to be more liberal on these things and not a self righteous butthole.

6. You must have one hell of a bully pulpit to have done more than that!
I'm also looking for the "self righteous butthole" to whom you refer. Can't seem to find one in the OP.

"...more liberal on these things..."? How about a few examples to slake our curiosity. The OP listed over two hundred solid liberal votes. I'm sure you could come up with at least half that number.

Taken literally, your post does not reflect well on you. Nor does it make much sense.

If it was an attempt at sarcasm or satire, you failed.

3. He lied...
...on May 28

...and on May 29

...and on May 30

...and on May 31

...and on June 1

...and told the truth -only- when it became obvious that more incriminating evidence was going to come out.

9. I don't give a damn if he lied about a private communication about a personal matter.
I'm not his mommy or his wife.

"Incriminating"? What crime is he accused of?

You might say what he did was salacious or in bad taste or not respectful of his marriage vows. But I don't see any crime here.

Edited on Tue Jun-07-11 12:58 PM by brooklynite
Personal sexual activity is not part of that standard.

Lying, continuously, is.

14. Higher standard does not equal being human.
To acknowledge that human failures deserve to be forgiven when the work is put in to correct them may be a stretch for some. How sad.

Being disappointed is one thing, holding someone else to your standard is another.

There is nothing Higher Standard about our elected officials anymore. The republicans (mainly) have been seeing to that for decades.

10. He's a Congressman - he lied EVERY DAY if he is doing his job
But you, of course, don't lie. Ever.

And, as someone else pointed out, we don't know what kind of marriage contract he has. Maybe he was SUPPOSED to lie as long as it was believable.

22. "I could forgive him, but he lied!!"
OMG, he lied! Of course he lied. What would you expect him to do? That old adage, don't kiss and tell, keeps popping into my head. It is normal, and considerate, to keep that kind of stuff private. They kind of guys who don't are real dogs.

What is not normal is asking about it (unless you're the spouse or significant other). I want to know when it became our business to know about the private, personal, legal sex habits of anyone outside our own bedroom.

Of course he lied.

For the record - I don't believe there is anyone immune (and that includes you) to scumbags like Breitbart.

All day long I felt like I'm on some kind of right wing christian old lady board. Maybe he's got an open marriage.

I'm so surprised at all the judgement, that everyone can forget all the good he has done, thanks for posting a list.

He's made some bad calls on some important issues. Otherwise, he's generally a good liberal, as you would expect of someone representing his District.

He's authored no major Bills, that I'm aware of.

All-in-all, he's no Progressive Superman, but I'd rather have him stay in there. He has no reason to resign.
